Is Ellen Page Playing Barbara Gordon?

Here’s the downside to whenever official news breaks of a highly anticipated movie, it causes more rumors and speculation to come up. The above image is a fake, debunked by Screen Rant.

The latest rumor is that actress Ellen Page (Juno) is playing a Barbara Gordon in The Dark Knight Rises. In a lot of ways it does make sense since Christopher Nolan officially announced that The Dark Knight Rises takes place 8 years after the events of the previous Batman movie in which Barbara is maybe 11 years old at best. Also given the fact that Page worked with both Joseph Gordon – Levitt and Nolan on Inception, the rumor seemed even more plausible.

However, since no sources were mentioned in the reports, not even the usual “the key grip seen and heard this on the set” statement usually attached to something like this, it was weven more hard to believe from the get go.

Trust me when I say this and I’m sure you probably guessed this already, after the release of the second official trailer and 6 minute prologue are released in December. There will be little period of calm before the WB cranks up it’s hype machine for this movie in the early Spring and we’ll seeing and hearing a lot more about this movie officially.
