A revelation has come out of SDCC ’12! During DC Comics’ Young Justice panel, Teen Titans writer Scott Lobdell states that in the New 52 continuity, Tim Drake was never Robin!
“Tim goes straight from being Tim Drake to being Red Robin in that there was no official period of time where he was Robin. We keep most of the origin in tact in that he was one of the few people who could get very close to learning who Bruce is…but it will be a much updated version of his origin.”
Obviously, this new aspect of Drake’s past is meant to clear up the question that with the heroes of the DCnU maybe being around for 6 years, how could Batman have so many Robins that early in his career? Which STILL doesn’t explain Dick Grayson’s long and illustrious career as The Boy Wonder, Jason Todd stepping in the role, and – given this new time frame –Damian Wayne being 11 years old, unless of course DC decides to change his origin and have the Talia Al Ghul/Bruce Wayne affair take place before Bruce is Batman, possibly during his training with the League Of Shadows.
This and many other questions will be addressed in Teen Titans # 0 and along with the rest of DC’s zero issues that are shipping in September .
