Constantine on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow And Supergirl/Flash Crossover Still ‘Up In The Air’

Yesterday the big news was that John Constantine (Matt Ryan) would be joining the cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow during the show’s second season and that Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) would be crossing paths with The Flash (Grant Gustin). The reason why I didn’t post about it when these tidbits were making the rounds on the web is because it reeks of fanboy wishful thinking like, for example, The Suicide Squad version of The Joker is really Jason Todd or Ben Affleck is actually playing Wade Wilson/Deathstroke pretending to be Batman in BVS – oh brother. So scroll down to read what I’ve found after a little digging/research.

A Maid of Might/Scarlet Speedster crossover is plausible and may be happening. CBS (the network that airs Supergirl) owns half of CW (the network that airs The Flash) with the other half owned by Warner Brothers which owns the rights to all of the DC Comics characters. This crossover MIGHT happen if Supergirl gets the go ahead for extra episodes. These episodes could be based in part on the comic story arc, New Krypton, which had 100,000 Kryptonians being freed from the Bottle City of Kandor in search of a new planet to inhabit.

As for Constantine showing up on DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, rumblings are that it’s been discussed by CW with DC Entertainment but the latter is undecided as to whether or not have the character appear on the series. Furthermore, CW has yet to make any formal decisions or announcements regarding a second season of the show so I would take the Constantine appearance with a huge grain of salt.
