After a brief suspension from hosting duties as a result of allegations made by his ex girlfriend Chloe Dykstra, which she detailed in an essay (though she never named Hardwick, there are many parallels between him and the person she describes), Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as host of Talking Dead, the aftershow for The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead. Here’s the network’s statement:
“Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of Talking Dead and Talking with Chris Hardwick. We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step.”
Obviously the network’s decision to bring Hardwick back has been met mixed reaction. Many have stood by Hardwick throughout this situation and seem happy that he will be back in the host’s chair, while others have been vocal in support of Dykstra and are aghast about this outcome.
